Irish family carers do some of the most amazing work in the country. Often 24/7, the provide physical, mental and emotional support for those who need it most – that may be a fragile older person, someone who is terminally ill, those with severe disabilities or anyone with special needs. As a carer for my grandmother along with my mother, I know the strain and stresses invloved with caring. Having the time to meet a friend for a coffee or doing the weekly shopping can be the break a carer needs, even if for just a few hours.

The Carer’s Association support those who care. Read more about their truly fantastic work here
